-

A nationwide exhibition on Napoleon Bonaparte made its debut on March 14 in southwest China’s Yunnan Province.

More than 150 items on display include some personal articles that Napoleon Bonaparte used during his lifetime, like clothing, and items of daily use from his era, as well as oil paintings, sculptures, and woodcuts of famous artists. The exhibition depicts the ups and downs of Napoleon’s life.

“Such an exhibition on French art and culture will help enhance communication and friendship between the two peoples,” said Ma Wendou, curator of the Yunnan Provincial Museum.

The first stop of the exhibition tour in the provincial capital of Kunming will last till June 9. The exhibition is scheduled to move to other parts of the country, including the provinces of Guizhou, Shanxi, and Henan.
