Li Keqiang Holds Talks with Uzbek Prime Minister via Video Link
On June 8, 2021, Premier Li Keqiang held talks with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov in Beijing via video link.
Li Keqiang said that China and Uzbekistan are friendly neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, China and Uzbekistan have been supporting and helping each other to push forward pragmatic cooperation, which has played a positive role in the two countries’ economic recovery. China stands ready to work with Uzbekistan to conduct closer high-level exchanges, strengthen mutual political trust, deepen practical cooperation across the board, and bring the bilateral relations to a new high.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China stands ready to work with Uzbekistan to enhance coordination and cooperation under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to contribute to post-pandemic recovery and livelihood improvement for regional countries.
Abdulla Aripov said that Uzbekistan and China have seen sound development of the bilateral relations. He thanked China for the timely aid to Uzbekistan in fighting the pandemic, and extended the wish to enhance cooperation with China in pandemic control. He called on the two countries to give full play to the intergovernmental cooperation committee mechanism, and further explore and deepen cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and connectivity to push for greater development of bilateral relations.
