Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China held in 2012, China has carried out a largescale afforestation campaign, with over 66,667 square kilometers of land being afforested every year.

In 2020, China’s artificial afforestation area reached 28,900 square kilometers, and the total afforestation area reached 67,700 square kilometers.

China’s forest coverage rate is expected to reach 24.1 percent by 2025, according to the outline of the 14th Five-year Plan for forestry and grassland protection and development.
