Dance all night for good cause

THE Bri­ga­low and sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties have turned out to glam up and sup­port a cause close to the heart. The Bri­ga­low Li­censed Ball was held on Satur­day night, to help raise money to sup­port the Chinchilla Cancer Coun­cil.

Bri­ga­low Hall com­mit­tee trea­surer Ste­fanie Burke said there were per­haps 100 peo­ple at the event.

“Lots of peo­ple came out to sup­port us and I think we raised some good money,” Mrs Burke said.

“It was a lovely night.” Each year the com­mit­tee do­nate about $2000 to the Chinchilla Cancer Coun­cil, and Mrs Burke said she’s hope­ful they’ll be able to do­nate a sim­i­lar amount again. The ball was held in hon­our of Mick and Denise Burke, past mem­bers who had lost their bat­tle with cancer. Mr Burke was the pres­i­dent of the com­mit­tee.

“Lots of fam­ily and friends turned up in sup­port,” Mrs Burke said.
