A show for the entire community

IF THERE’S one thing a local show does, it’s bringing a community together to celebrate itself.

That’s the goal at this year’s Wandoan Show, with younger and older generations working together to present a fantastic event for the town.

Chief ring steward Nancy Davies highlighted this sentiment while discussing the show committee itself.

"We’ve just got such a passionate committee and everyone’s so supportive, we’re really fortunate that we’ve got that, everyone’s happy for everyone to have an idea and have a go,” Mrs Davies said.

“That’s why our show in the past couple of years is probably really gathering momentum because we’re got such great support and a lot of young community members are coming on board and they’re just doing a great job, so all in all everyone’s helping everyone out, it’s great.”

And the strong sponsorship of the show demonstrates the community’s support.

“Some people have been supporting for a lot of years and we really, really appreciate them, but we’ve also got some new sponsorship too so that’s really exciting,” she said.
