Show to draw massive crowd

Move to weekend improves attendance

WANDOAN Show organisers are hoping for a stand-out attendance at next weekend’s event.

The Show, previously held during the week, has been moved to a Friday–Saturday schedule, which society president Richard Golden said has been an excellent decision.

“When we made our change from Monday– Tuesday back to the Friday– Saturday and, with a lot of invigoration in our organising committee, we drastically increased our attendance,” he said.

“So we’re looking more now at that 1200–1500 people for the two days and we’re really hopeful that we will achieve that.”

With the reinvigoration of the show, Mr Golden said he was particularly excited to continue to improve the grounds’ facilities.

“It’s an excellent venue and the plans that are still being developed,” he said.

“I’ve made it somewhat of a mission to achieve the lighting of the arena before I ride off into the sunset.”
