Last Satur­day Chin­chilla hosted Jandowae for the first round of the Baker Cup. Chin­chilla leads Jandowae by 14 points after Satur­day. Joe Green won the monthly mug by one shot from Mike Kluske. The medal was won by Iris Thomp­son and Glo­ria Scott was the women’s run­ner-up. The day was well sup­ported with 35 play­ers. /11 pin shot was won by P Haw­ton; 5/14 P Rose and 7/16 Ben Dav­i­son. June Haw­ton won 5/14 pin while Glo­ria Scott took the 7/16. This Satur­day, April 14, we are play­ing a Sin­gle Sta­ble­ford with tee-off at 1pm. Early start from noon if re­quired.

Chin­chilla Men’s Lawn Bowls

An­other good week­end at the lawn bowls club. Thanks to all that vis­ited our club. Our Wed­nes­day win­ners were D. Wal­ters, B. Hobbs, B. Turner, R/UP P. O’Dea, Fuzzy, Satur­day win­ners K. Hen­ningsen, G. Rear­don. Sun­day win­ners were Robyn Lax­ton’s team. Con­grat­u­la­tions to all win­ners. Please play your cham­pi­onships ASAP and ar­range with your op­po­nent. Pen­nant is not far away.

Miles Bowls Club

Wed­nes­day night bowls is still at­tract­ing good num­bers and it ap­pears ev­ery­one is hav­ing a great time. Re­sults from the past two weeks: 28/3/18 Bob, Les and Brian with a 8 mar­gin took out the chooks but no jack­pot. 04/4/18: Shaun Guymer and Neil Simp­son with a mar­gin of 9 won the night against Del and Lyn; un­for­tu­nately for them the jack­pot is still in the tin. Cham­pi­onship games played over the past few weeks: A Sin­gles Shaun Guymer def Trumby, A Pairs Trumby & Micko def Scott & Shaun Guymer, A Triples Wally, Tim, Shaun def Bob, Rod & Pe­ter; A Triples Scott, Micko, IMD def Trumby, Ted & Brian. The sec­ond round of the A sin­gles has been drawn and is up on the board to be played by 21/4/18. Please ar­range your own marker. Miles Bowls Club Pres­i­dents Day is this Sun­day 15/4/18. Pres­i­dent Scott is still look­ing for a cou­ple of play­ers so please make your­self avail­able if pos­si­ble.

Tara Bowls Notes

Apolo­gies for the lack of news lately. The green has been out of ac­tion as it has been ren­o­vated. The Tara Car­ni­val (April 21-22) is shap­ing up nicely with a high-qual­ity field as­sem­bling from across south­ern Queens­land. There will be a working bee this Satur­day to tidy up the club­house and sur­rounds from 8am. Now the green is back in ac­tion there are games that re­quire ur­gent at­ten­tion: A grade sin­gles - W. Smith v D. Collins, Jim Smith v D. Cun­ning­ham. A grade pairs - John Smith & C. Brauer v Jim Smith & P. Matthews, D. Som­mer­feld & T. Duffy v D. Cun­ning­ham & A. Bougoure. B grade sin­gles - D. Stark v M. Llewellyn, B. Rus­sell v J. Mo­ran. B grade pairs - D. Stark & K. Stark v M. Llewellyn & J. Mo­ran.
