Preparing for change

Chinchilla News - - LIFE | OUR COLUMNISTS -

HELLO and welcome to another column from the Rotary Club of Chinchilla.

No meeting was held last week and instead the outgoing and incoming board met to discuss a few things with the intent of ensuring a smooth move into the new Rotary year.

Our changeover will be held on Tuesday, July 3, and our club has enjoyed another great year. We will be distributing funds shortly and, as always, we say thank you to our community for assisting us to help others.

The markets were held last Sunday but it was a very cold day and not a lot of people around. As I write this I can hear the rain and hope our community receives the rainfall it needs for pasture and cropping.

June and July are always busy months for service clubs and this Saturday will be the Lions changeover. We wish our fellow service club another successful year and congratulate them on the very good work they do in our community.

I understand the Apex changeover is also soon and take this opportunity to congratulate Apex members on their great year and wish them well for the next.

Well, I have some BIG news for you! Our club has completed its timeline feature at Rotary Park and this is a project we are all very proud of. President Lloyd and the members have put in some very hard work.

The date for the official opening has not been decided yet but you are welcome to go and have a look. Stay tuned for more announcements regarding the official opening and we would love to hear what you think about our new feature.
