Students pushed to their limits

Chinchilla News - - BEST OF THE WEST -

STUDENTS from Dalby State High School have returned from a true test of will in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Students tackled the famous Kokoda Challenge, which can be done over 96km or 48km through mountainous terrain.

“We had several withdraw because of injury, but that’s par for the course. The majority of students completed it,” organiser Cheryle Williams said.

“It’s a fantastic event that pushes kids beyond where they’ve ever been before.

“Not many people would consider walking 96km in the freezing cold of winter.”

Mrs Williams said Dalby State High School sent students because of the enormous physical and mental benefits.

“The sense of accomplishment a student gets when they complete it is something special,” she said.
