KAP a real alternative

Chinchilla News - - NEWS -

MEMBER for Warrego Ann Leahy has again let fly at Katter’s Australian Party, this time for not attending the Parliamentary Estimates Committee.

From what was seen on the media, the hearing was a pathetic display at times, with inane banter between the ALP and LNP.

At one stage in the proceedings, the Member for Callide produced a tape measure.

If he was attempting to measure the competence of the major parties, he was wasting his time.

Many of us are tired of being told that the LNP is fighting for us.

They couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

They have not been able to make a mark on the Labor Government and given the weakness and incompetence of this government, this is “appalling”.

The best they can do is yap from the sidelines, like a chihuahua at a dog show.

KAP has presented several pieces of legislation to the Queensland Parliament in this current term, some of which were successful.

The LNP has presented none. If they were to do so, they might find bipartisan support for worthwhile legislation.

The Palaszczuk government is about to introduce an Abortion Bill to Parliament.

KAP has vowed to oppose this Bill and lobby other MPs also.

Will LNP give a guarantee that they will oppose this legislation or will they give Labor a “free pass”.

Finally, I wish to thank Ann for acknowledging the presence of KAP on the political landscape.

We will continue to offer a real alternative to the people of Queensland, particularly in rural areas.

— Rod Back, Chinchilla,

Member of KAP
