Minister gives pavilion upgrade thumbs up

Chinchilla News - - BEST OF THE WEST -

THE upgraded Knowles Pavilion in Dalby will provide a boost to Dalby’s social scene.

This was the sentiment of Minister for Local Government Stirling Hinchliffe when he visited Dalby Showgrounds on Tuesday.

Mr Hinchliffe, originally from Dalby, said he was excited for the opportunities the upgraded facility presented the town.

“I think it clearly adds to something that is not only going to keep money and activity and opportunities here in the region, but it may attract more things from across the Darling Downs, because it is a quality facility that will cater for a whole range of different events,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

“I am absolutely blown away by the way it has been modernised and what will be an important asset for the Dalby community.”

Mr Hinchliffe said the redevelopment of the building added to the growth of the region.

“Dalby has been one of those places which has been a real success in the past number of years,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

“It shows great tenacity and capability to continue to grow and continue to contribute to the state’s economy.”

The official opening will be held next Friday, October 5, with Member for Ipswich Jennifer Howard representing Mr Hinchcliffe at the ceremony.
