Palaszczuk focused on politics, not patient care

Chinchilla News - - NEWS OPINION -

ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk’s airbrushing of a leading female doctor’s name from our main children’s hospital last week was nothing more than pure politics.

This is a place where our sickest kids from right around the state are treated and cared for when they need it most.

Labor’s priority should be on improving emergency care and ensuring these kids have a bed when they are recovering from major operations.

Instead, Annastacia Palaszczuk has chosen to waste millions of taxpayers’ dollars changing the name on the outside of the Hospital for no good reason.

It just goes to show that Labor’s health priorities are all wrong.

Our hard-working nurses, doctors and paramedics at this hospital need more help to improve patient care.

Just under one third of emergency department patients aren’t treated within clinically recommended timeframes and the median wait time for elective surgery is almost double the state average.

To make matters worse, neither Annastacia Palaszczuk nor her embattled Health Minister have ever spoken with the Cilento family.

No wonder the Cilento family are disgusted and appalled.

Queenslanders deserve a world-class public health system but what we saw last week was the Palaszczuk Labor Government focused on politics rather than patient care.
