TO MARK t1h10`eth` an­niver­sary of Chin­chilla News, each week we take a look back at two edi­tions from our his­tory and delve into the ma­jor sto­ries.

This weeks pa­per marks our last of­fi­cial dive into our his­tory.

On the July 21, 2016, edi­tion of the pa­per, the front page teases two ma­jor sto­ries.

The first fo­cuses on the cen­te­nary an­niver­sary of Burra Burra State School, which had eight stu­dents at the time.

The lead high­ights 40 full-time roles the coun­cil cut at the time de­spite the prom­ise of no re­dun­dan­cies.

The front page of the Septem­ber 21, 2017, pa­per is dom­i­nated by a photo of the an­nual Bri­ga­low Bush Bash, as it cel­e­brated 60 years. Its ma­jor story cen­tres on com­mu­nity anger over “sky­rock­et­ing bills”.

It also sin­gles out a Chin­chilla gra­zier who was named most out­stand­ing beef pro­ducer for the year.
