Week­end of ac­tion set for Na­tional Rodeo Fi­nals

THIS year’s Na­tional Rodeo Fi­nals, set for Novem­ber 2-3, will feature a va­ri­ety of new ac­tiv­i­ties, an im­proved pro­gram and some ex­cit­ing coun­try mu­sic en­ter­tain­ers.

The 2018 Na­tional Rodeo Coun­cil of Aus­tralia Na­tional Rodeo Fi­nals will of­fer two ac­tion-packed per­for­mances on Fri­day and Satur­day nights with a full line-up of rodeo events slated for the week­end.

The com­pe­ti­tion is unique, giv­ing com­peti­tors from six dif­fer­ent NRCA mem­ber rodeo As­so­ci­a­tions the chance to com­pete at a na­tional level for an Aus­tralian ti­tle. NRCA Gen­eral Man­ager Janelle Bar­r­a­clough said this year’s Na­tional Rodeo Fi­nals marked the com­pe­ti­tion’s 18th an­niver­sary, “and we want to re­mind ev­ery­one in the area to come out and join in the fun”.

New ac­tiv­i­ties at this year’s fi­nals in­clude fire breath­ing per­for­mances by Goondi­windi lo­cal Blue Blaez’s and live entertainment with Home­grown (as fea­tured on The Voice TV show), in ad­di­tion to a special ap­pear­ance by Rodeo Queen of Aus­tralia Re­bekah McMa­hon, per­for­mances by rodeo favourites Mik Oberle and Com­edy with Big AL plus the in­clu­sion of a Cow­boy Coun­try Mar­ket which will run in con­junc­tion with the ac­tion of the Na­tional Rodeo Fi­nals.

The Cow­boy Coun­try Mar­ket will be open to the pub­lic Satur­day from 8am – 2pm and ad­mis­sion is free.

Mar­ket vis­i­tors can ex­pect to see all things coun­try and west­ern from home­wares, sad­dlery, tack, west­ern wear, ap­parel, jew­ellery/ ac­ces­sories, hand­made crafts, food ven­dors and much more plus roam­ing entertainment, kids pet­ting zoo, pony rides and kids face paint­ing from 10am-noon.
