Fantastic fun for all at the Interact Colour Run
HELLO and welcome back to our column. We hope your week was fantastic.
At our meeting last week, we enjoyed an address by Susie Wood from Business Navigator.
Susie has been in the area for about 13 years and loves the district.
She has had a varied career, both in Australia and overseas, and is now working for Business Navigator which is managed by TSBE and funded by QGC.
Susie also mentioned that the finals of the “Pitch Challenge” will be coming up shortly and that we should be very interested in some of the great ideas which have come out of this competition.
I believe the final will be held in December.
Congratulations to the Chinchilla State High School Interact Club and their support teachers.
The “Colour Run” event was held last Saturday and was a great success with about 199 participants taking part.
It was a very well organised event and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves despite the hot weather.
The funds raised are to be shared between the Drought Angels and the District Drought Relief Fund which our club is participating in.
Of course, we still have lots planned before the year ends and we hope that you keep reading the column for more information.
I believe that our last official event for the year will be the CCCI Christmas Street Party on December 13, where we will be supplying our great burgers to the public.
Have you purchased your Melbourne Cup Sweep tickets yet?
Rotarians will be selling more tickets this Thursday and Friday in Heeney Street and the big draw will be held at the RSL Memorial Club on Monday, November 5.
The Memorial Club is supplying nibbles for those in attendance and we hope to have some fun before and during the draw.
There will be a mock horse race, rum toss and I guess you will have to come along to see all the fun!
It should get under way around 7pm to 7.30pm and will be held in the public bar.
I think that it is time for me to say farewell for this week but please remember that our club truly appreciates your support of everything we do and as we always say “Thank you for allowing us to assist our community”.
Bye for now and take care.
