Tara Bowls Notes
NOT a lot of action on the Tara green over the weekend as three teams attended the CDBA East v West and Presentation Day at Meandarra.
Championship draws have been done and A Grade Singles are to be played by December 9 – L. Wright v C. Ensbey, winner to play M. Prain, R. Gunther v John Smith, M. Llewellyn v C. Brauer, K. Stark v M. Merry, D. Stark v P. Matthews, D. Collins v Jim Smith, L. Boardman v B. Russell and T. Duffy v D. Osbourne, winner to play Jim Moran.
The green will be in tip-top shape on Sunday November 4, so please try and book a spot then.
Please remember the club is open from 4pm Wednesday through to Sunday, with happy hour from 5pm.

CDBA Bowls Notes
THANK you to the Meandarra Club for their wonderful hospitality in hosting the East v West Divisional Challenge and CDBA Presentation Day last Saturday.
Congratulations to Stephen Savage of Dalby who was crowned the CDBA Bowler of the Year last Saturday at Meandarra.
Runner-up was his partner in crime Joel Smith, with Matthew Prain third.
Cliffy Brauer of Tara picked up the B Grade Player of the Year, with Chinchilla’s Jim Donnelly in second spot.
The Western Division were the overall winners for the day over the East by a slender 6 shot margin over 14 games completed.
The two Chinchilla teams were the teams with two wins for the day, with Peter Jones, Jim Donnelly, Bob Bullock and Sam Roberts finishing with the best margin over Harold Waldron, Ken Dolbel, Peter Roberts and Ken Henningsen.
Thank to the Guymer boys at IGA Miles for donating the lovely fruit and vegie trays as trophies.
Other dates to keep in mind are the Bell President’s Day – November 11, and the Jandowae President’s Day and Quarterly Meeting – November 25.

Wednesday social: Winners – Don Critch, Fuzzy, Brian Turner. Runners-up – Bob Bullock, Neil Hazard, Robbie Hammermeister.
Saturday social: Winners – Brian Hammermeister, Robbie Hammermeister.
Sunday social: Winners – Rowan Mutch, Neil Hazard, Des Davis. Runners-up – Elva Henningsen, Ken Horswood.
Championship games played: Handicap Singles – Ben McCullough +10 vs Ken Henningsen 0.
Ben played a great game, taking 2-1-2-2 going 17-2 up after four ends, then taking 7 to 9 of the next 16 ends, 14 to 17 shots.
Ben had a comfortable win 32-18.
C Singles: Ken Dolbel vs Sam Roberts. Ken won 7 of the first 10 ends to be 15-5 up.
Sam made a comeback, winning 6 of the next 10 ends 23-18 to Ken, another 4 ends for Sam, 24-all on the 26th end.
Anybody’s game. Ken Dolbel ran out the victor 25-24.
Remember to let Peter (games director) know when you have arranged to play your championship games.
