MEN across Australia grew moustaches throughout November in support of the Movember cause, among them were two rural Westpac managers.

Chinchilla’s Andrew Fendley and Warwick’s Kim McGregor joined forces as the Mo Bros to help change the face of men’s health.

The charity addresses some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

Mr Fendley said he was motivated to take part after seeing first hand the struggles faced by men coming through the branch.

“Men tend to put their health issues last, whether they are too proud or whatever, they don’t like to talk about it,” Mr Fendley said.

“We see that a lot with the farmers who come through that are suffering with mental health - it has a huge impact on them and there is that reluctance to talk about it.”

Together the pair raised $1552, due in large part to the generous support of the Chinchilla Lions Club.

Hosting three sausage sizzles throughout the month, the club proudly presented Mr Fendley with a cheque for $500.

“Prostate has affected a couple of our members in the past and it’s something we are very conscious and supportive of - we were happy to help,” Lions member Lindsay Marsden said.

“Growing the mo became a really great talking point,” Mr Fendley said.

“I am so thankful for the tireless work of the Lions, their support was brilliant.

I can’t promote the work that they do in the community as a whole enough.”
