Fund­ing sup­port avail­able

COM­MU­NITY groups with ini­tia­tives that make a pos­i­tive dif­fer­ence to the lo­cal com­mu­nity are be­ing en­cour­aged to ap­ply for fund­ing sup­port in the next round of Yan­coal Aus­tralia’s Com­mu­nity Sup­port Pro­gram.

The Yan­coal Com­mu­nity Sup­port Pro­gram pro­vides fund­ing to com­mu­nity groups work­ing in the ar­eas of health, so­cial and com­mu­nity, en­vi­ron­ment, ed­u­ca­tion and train­ing.

Cameby Downs Coal op­er­a­tions man­ager Brae­don Gaske en­cour­aged lo­cals to raise their hand for as­sis­tance by ap­ply­ing for fund­ing.

“Via our Com­mu­nity Sup­port Pro­gram, Cameby Downs Coal has the op­por­tu­nity to as­sist those lo­cally-fo­cused pro­grams and ini­tia­tives ca­pa­ble of mak­ing a real con­tri­bu­tion to the con­tin­ued growth and sus­tain­abil­ity of the re­gion,” Mr Gaske said.

“In the past, Yan­coal fund­ing has en­abled the de­vel­op­ment and im­ple­men­ta­tion of en­vi­ron­men­tal projects, ed­u­ca­tion, train­ing and em­ploy­ment as­sis­tance ini­tia­tives, spon­sor­ship of key com­mu­nity events, the pur­chase of much needed equip­ment and helped sup­port dis­ad­van­taged groups within the com­mu­nity.

The pro­gram is open for ap­pli­ca­tions un­til Jan­uary 31.
