Chinchilla News - - NEWS -

EIGHT community organisations or groups from across the Western Downs, Maranoa and Banana regions are sharing in more than $40,000 worth of financial or in-kind assistance through Origin’s Community Sponsorship and Donations Program.

Origin general manager for the Condabri, Talinga and Orana Asset Alex Kennedy-Clark said it was great to restart the quarterly program and “help create some good energy in the community by throwing our support behind local events like the Chinchilla and Miles Christmas street parties, the Tara Show or next year’s melon festival”.

“It’s also pleasing to be part of activities like helping the Tara Swimming Club install a new timing system that’s going to allow them to host a district carnival for the first time in 10 years or helping the Injune State School P&C put down new turf in the play area for younger kids.”

Financial or in-kind assistance is available for community-based programs and upcoming events that contribute to economic development, natural resource stewardship, safety and well-being, and regional growth and liveability.

Four quarterly rounds will be held in 2019. Find out more or grab an application from www.aplng.com or email community.sponsor [email protected]inenergy.com.au.
