Wishing a merry Christmas and happy new year

Chinchilla News - - LIFE OUR COLUMNISTS -

CONGRATULATIONS to our CCCI on last week’s Christmas Street Carnival.

As we know, a lot of time and effort goes in to organising any such event and the team did another excellent job with one eye on the weather all the time.

Our Lions Ham Wheel was, as always, very popular as our many friends tried their luck on each spin of the wheel.

Whilst all odds are far better than Gold Lotto, we know you all did not have a win.

However, one ham remains unclaimed and if you are holding on to Green ticket No.23 in series 266 please contact Lion Lindsay on 0427 656 201.

On presentation of said ticket you can take your ham away.

We thank all who supported our Ham Wheel again this year.

You still have one more chance to win a Christmas Ham at our RSL Saturday Raffles this Saturday.

The first and second raffles will be replaced with a first prize draw of a ham followed by a second prize draw of a 1kg Lions Christmas Cake.

The third rafflee will remain the same with a second prize draw of a 1kg Christmas Cake.

We look forward to seeing you at the RSL.

As this is our last column for 2018 we must thank our friends at the “News” for their support week in week out through rail, hail, shine and even drought.

We will be back in print again mid-January 2019.

Finally, a very Merry Christmas to all our readers, safe travelling during this holiday time and we wish you all a great start to 2019.

Our prayers have been answered with the beautiful rain.

And remember, “Where there’s a need there’s a Lion”.
