THE BUSINESS community of Charleville banded together this month celebrating the festive season and the culmination of a six-week Shop Local campaign.

The Charleville Christmas Street Party attracted residents to the CBD with markets, live music and extended trading, organised by residents Sandra Currie and Carmel Williams.

With another completed event under her belt, Ms Currie said she would consider it a success for the small team who put it together.

“The street party wasn’t as big as last year but it was still a good time and there were plenty of people around, visiting the stalls and eating plenty of food.

Looking back on years gone by, Ms Currie said Shop Local and the street party have been an enduring aspect of the Charleville business community.

After seeing the effects of the shop local campaign, Ms Currie said spending any money in town could make a difference.

Locals get in the spirit.
