Dominoes delivers the biggest one
BIG appetites may finally be satisfied following the launch of the biggest Domino’s pizza yet.
Measuring 66cm and fitting in a 73cm box, the giant pizza is the size of “eight regular pizzas”, according to Domino’s staff.
“One person who came in had to fold the box in order to fit it in her car,” said a Domino’s Dalby employee.
Staff member Randy Shahi said the team had used a special car to transport the pizza and that often the only way to get the pizza home was to put down the back seats.
Unlike other pizzas Domino’s sells, the Big One is pick-up only and must be ordered the day before.
Jointly owned by Sulay Patel and Prakash Balsara, the Dalby Domino’s store has already sold more than 10 pizzas since its launch on December 3, 2018.
Mr Patel said between seven and 10 pizzas had sold per week and that, because of its size, the Big One had been popular for staff Christmas parties.
“Due to the weight of the pizza, it is best if two people carry it,” he said.
Featuring a different flavour for each quarter, the pizza includes segments of Hawaiian, Supreme, Meatlovers and Salami and costs $49.95.
Before the launch of the Big One, the biggest pizza available to order in Dalby was the Huge Pie, a comparatively small 16 inches.
In the spirit of all things big, Mr Patel said the Dalby store would double in size this year and was in the process of bringing on new recruits.
THAT’S AMORE: Domino’s Dalby restaurant staff gather around the biggest pizza pie the store has ever made.
