Classic Ford

BODY BEAUTIFUL

-

Tim from Tim Lang Classics remembers the Capri fondly: “it was a straight and original car, a lot of surface rust but generally solid. Once the glass and trim were removed we blasted it back to bare metal. It needed a few patch panels; the front of the both sills, a small piece of one A-post, around the headlight bowls and the offside seat base. Martin sourced two new-old stock front wings and we fitted a new front valance and repaired the offside front suspension tower. I fabricated the centre part of the front crossmember after a second-hand one we’d ordered arrived in worse condition than the one we had. Once I’d gapped and lined up the panels we epoxyed, filled and primed the shell then gave it two heavy coats of Two Pack including underneath the edges of the original vinyl roof. It was a great car to work on, I’ve repaired far worse!”
