These shells are meant primarily for just the purpose that Carwyn’s putting them to — rally car reshelling.They do need some work, but even a brand-new shell from Ford (if it ever became available) wouldn’t simply be ready for paint.You can’t whack on a coat of top coat and fit it up — with anything, there will be plenty of fettling to attend to and these shells are no different.
What they are absolutely perfect for though is to be shipped to the fabrication shop to have the various panels — which MotorsportTools keep in stock — to convert the standard shell into a Group 4-spec, either Historic as here to take a BDG engine and ZF gearbox, or Modern, to accept a Cosworth, Duratec, XE and so on, with more options to follow.
