Planned spec: restored shell, 2-litre ST170, Type- 9 five- speed

What’s the story: “I bought this Mk1 four- door seven years ago, then about a year in, cut the front end off because it was rotten and thought, what have I done?” exclaims Darren.

“I left it at the bottom of the garage for another four years, but a few choice words from my other half and a point in the right direction from Mark at Escort Tec, and its rebuild was back in business!”

“My eldest son and I have now been tinkering with it for the last couple of years on and off. We’ve done all of the work together including rebuilding the ST170 engine that will grace the engine bay, and hopefully we will have it done in time for next year’s Classic Ford Show.”
