From: UK Cars: Mk1 and Mk2 Escort “Here is my four- door Mk2 Escort and my Dad’s genuine Mk1 Escort 1300 Sport,” says Dalton.

“The Mk2 has had a full nut- and- bolt rebuild and a lot of welding after being sandblasted it’s needed floors, wings, front panel, doors... absolutely everything! It’s been repainted in a custom blue and has had a rebuilt engine and diff. I rebuilt it in a year of long, hard days and nights with a good friend — and on time for my wedding, too!

“My Dad’s Mk1 is a very honest, original 1300 Sport that had had a bit of work in previous life, but with a very solid shell. He’s owned for over 12 years, and will never sell it. It was originally built as a roadrally car but it’s too good to abuse now.

“It was always my dream to follow my Dad’s footsteps and build my own classic Ford.”
