The day that I first saw you, you looked so very sad, but under all that muck and grime, you really weren’t half bad. A battery a service and some fresh fuel too, a damn good clean I couldn’t believe you looked almost brand new, sitting there for all those years and never turned a wheel, and for what your owner wanted you really were a steal. So I set about those little tasks to bring you back to life, and even enlisted help from my wonderful lady wife, I sorted all those little jobs and she the interior clean, a brilliant sight you were that day the best I’d ever seen. And so to put you on the road we needed tax and MoT, the test was not a problem but your tax was not yet free. But next year will be better as you become of age, much to my amusement and the chancellor’s petty rage, you’ve gone from looking poorly and sadly under par. To my beautiful Escort popular a prize winning little star, you’ve brought me so much pleasure since the day when we first met, that I can never see us parting for many, many years yet.
