COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

This will tell the ECU the state of the engine — if the coolant is cold then the engine’s also on start up or, close to it and therefore, the ignition setting will need adjusting to cope.The sensor also has a secondary role; which is to switch on the engine fan.
