Spec: ST170 turbo, rear-wheel-drive By his own admission, 29-year-old HGV mechanic, Steve prefers to blend into the background rather than stand in the limelight although that’s probably a bit difficult as he drives aVista Orange MK1 Fiesta. “I’ve owned the car for 11 years during which time I’ve modified it to rear-drive. I’ve stuck in an ST170 turbo engine and it’s currently running 240 bhp on the dyno. I’m also using all Escort suspension and it works well.” Steve has dipped in and out of the OSFDC for a number of years. “I haven’t always drag-raced the car, I used to just use it as a show car although I’m enjoying taking part in the OSFDC as it brings more fun into the racing and they’re a nice bunch of people”.
