Tired, sticky cal­lipers can be saved with re­build kits from the own­ers’ club, but ac­tu­ally re­plac­ing the P14 items is very ex­pen­sive, es­pe­cially as they’re shared with the early Lo­tus Cortina. Reckon on circa £250-£295 for a fully re­built pair on ex­change. Seized rear wheel cylin­ders are get­ting a lit­tle harder to re­place, al­though the likes of new front discs, brake pipes and mas­ter cylin­der are rel­a­tively straight­for­ward to source, as are re­fur­bished rear drums.
