Classic Ford

HALOGEN LIGHTS

Easy to fit, and make a world of difference

Difficulty: -

Time to fit: 1 hour Most classic Fords are fitted with sealed-beam headlamps, which even in this day and age, are usually adequate for a standard classic Ford, but once you up the power of your engine, quite often you find that you start to run out of visible road when darkness falls and you’re, ahem, pressing on. Brighter, more effective headlamps, which feature separate Halogen bulbs, have been around for a long time, but have only become standard-fitment on cars in the last two decades. Fortunately, kits to convert your Ford to take Halogens have been around for just as long, and they’re a relatively cheap but effective modern upgrade. They’re easy to fit, too — often they bolt straight in, and at worst you’ll just need to change the connectors over.

How much: £81.60 (pair 7 inch, Rally Design)
