SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

THE SUBTLE UPGRADES

-

The Xxxxxxxx eagle-eyed will no doubt be poring over this nut-and-bolt restoration to analyse the period details, and Jaz is happy to fill us in on the areas where he chose to deviate from factory-stock and put his own twist on the Granada: “The car originally came with a cloth interior, which I upgraded to leather,” he says. “I also replaced the four-speed gearbox with a five-speed. I changed the timing gear; originally it would have had a nylon gear so I upgraded it to aluminium. The stock rocker covers have been replaced with chrome-plated ones. What else? Oh yes, the factory tyres would have been 190/65/390s, but I’ve fitted 200/60/390s. Originally the car would have come with front fog lights only, but this one’s now got spotlights too. And finally, I replaced the original orange front indicators with clear ones.”
