One. Rally cars on the road again

Irish rallying largely happens on closed public roads and, with the pandemic ongoing, the sport hasn’t been able to continue like it was from early 2020 so a road run was all the excuse needed to stretch the legs of the garaged machines once more with the Campbell team of cars among the most spectacular.

Two.Antiques house stop-off

Come lunch, feed people and they will be happy. Give them a themed setting and all the better. McNean Antiques and Salvage, rammed with motoring memorabilia and more, provided a rest stop in Blacklion before the return loop.This could have been an expensive lunch.

Three. Fine detail organisation

Between marshals on motorbikes at each junction, to signage and residents standing road side this was more than a casual run. A late change to the route itself due to resurfacing proved the fine tuning organisers went to.

It may have been run in conjunction with the Irish Escort Club but others had fun too like this Anglia owner.

On reflection (sorry) the Summit Run was a great success for both the chosen charity and participants.

Commercials don’t have to be just practical — they can be pretty special like the Anglia van. Run on Sunday, work on Monday.
