Owner Q&A Roger Blockley

-

How much of the original car is left?

“Apart from new metal in the floor, wings and sills, the body and chassis is as it was.”

How long did the conversion take?

“About nine months from start to finish.”

How much did it cost?

“About £5000, including paint and materials.”

How much did you do yourself?

“Everything, except for the re-chroming and the torque converter rebuild.”

Any future plans for the van?

“I might consider fitting some sound deadening material ,so that it is more comfortable on longer tours.”

Where did you find the sun visor over the front windscreen?

“I found an old rusty visor, cleaned it up, filled it and painted it, then made a mould and produced a perfect visor in GRP. They normally have a couple of chrome strips, but I kept it plain because it looked so nice.”
