The wooden frame will come off again to allow the rear body repairs to be finalised and then protected using primers and body seals. The key areas will include finishing the welding to the inner rear arch repairs, the boot floor and bumper mounting brackets. The stripped roof panel will be cleaned up too and fitted with a new front rail as the old one has suffered at its corners sufficiently to justify replacing it. If we can get that far, then we’ll getting closer to where I was hoping Project Traveller should be by now. Workshop Matt will hopefully have the new tie plates fitted, pushing the bodywork ever closer to primer. In addition to the rear bodywork, I’m hoping to sort the crusty sills under each door. Gas welding – I used to like it but it’s currently in my bad books for hiding too many sins, too easily.
