Owner’s view Stephen Allonby-Briggs

Renault Caravelle

Stephen’s father bought a second-hand Renault Caravelle in 1975 – “I learned to drive in it and so did my sister.” The car was sold in 1986, but Stewart so missed it that, twenty-three years later, he traced the Caravelle and bought it – “It was in basically solid condition.” Today Stewart is gradually improving the Renault and only uses it occasionally for the local car show “and about once a month in summer.” As for the general public reaction when he does drive the Caravelle, “few recognise it as a Renault and they just say ‘what a pretty car’!”
