SOUNDS

I’ve generally got a stash of spare radios and planned to fit a nice CD unit, until I discovered that there’s very little space in the T25 dashboard for a modern stereo. The heater duct and control cables massively restrict the space.

The solution was a cheap ‘deckless’ unit bought online which plays music from USB/Bluetooth/memory card plus FM radio but having no CD or tape mechanism is much smaller than most units.

Here you can see just how much shorter it is than the modern head unit I’d planned to fit and in fact it’s slightly shorter than the old analogue Pioneer.

The hopeless wiring needed tidying up but once I’d fished the speaker wires out from behind the dash and found a permanent live, ignition live and earth, I wired a pair of ISO plugs to the van and slotted the unit in. For less than 20 quid I was impressed at the sound quality and it already looks so much neater in there.
