I am fitting a 3.4 litre engine and 5 speed box from a rusty but 50,000 mile 1984 XJ6 into a 1957 Jaguar Mk1 2.4. However, the sump is fouling the anti roll bar. Do I swap the sump or the ARB?

It’s up to you really. The 2.4 sump will fit, but the XJ sump will clear the crossmember. The best all round solution is to fit the front anti roll bar from a 3.8 litre S Type as this solves the problem and is useful is a series of handling upgrades. A Mark 2 rear axle and front discs are essential really.
