Owner’s Q&A

-

What were the hardest parts to find for the car?

Sourcing the body panels, although there are still a few seals to find and fit.

Why do you like the Rapier so much?

I like the pillarless coupé look and how the rear side windows neatly slide down at an angle.

Would you EVER consider restoring another classic?

Depends what it is, but I think the answer to that question would be yes.

What’s the longest journey you’ve done in the Rapier?

We took the car to the Isle of Wight before it was restored and now take it to as many shows as we can.

What's the next job to do?

I would like to rebuild the original 1.6 litre engine but will try to keep it going for as long as possible.

Would you ever consider selling the Rapier?

Definitely not! We like to think ours is one of the best series 111A’s in the country.

If you won the lottery, what classic would you put in your garage?

It would have to be an Escort RS2000. I owned one of these once and wish I still had it, as they’re worth a fortune now.
