JUNE: 1953 MORRIS MINOR

-

We couldn’t get too far through the year without featuring the evergreen Morris Minor and when Broughton Ferry based Alastair Cruikshank sent us a few tantalising photographs of his lovingly restored 1953 split screen Morris Minor, we had to make space for it. Often referred to as Britain’s very own ‘Peoples Car’, the Minor was one of the cars that kick started the classic movement in the mid-‘Seventies and is now regarded as a national treasure. The Series Two Minor cost £631 when it was new and when Alastair bought the Minor in 2016 it had been restored by a previous owner and was in great condition. This Minor is powered by an 803cc Gold Seal A-Series engine, which the owner thinks judging by its serial number originated under the bonnet of a MG Midget.
