AND FINALLY… 1982 JAGUAR XJ6 S3

-

Despite our former project 4.2 litre Jaguar XJ6 being laid up after suffering from a terminally smoking straight-six, this otherwise fine example is still our favourite project car of the year and we’re looking forward to the Big Cat returning to the road. The bad part of running the car was that it seemed to spend as much time of the back of a low loader than it did on the road. But when our big cat was behaving itself and not drinking 20W50 like it was going out of fashion, the Jaguar was a really nice car to drive. It’s interesting to note that in the 18 months since we bought the car, the prices for Series 3 XJ6’s in a similar condition to ours have started to rise at quite a rapid rate. Today, we’d be hard pushed to get a decent replacement for what we paid for our fine but very smoky example back in the summer of 2016.
