THOUGHT OF THE MONTH
Originality for classic vehicles is always a debatable point. They were assembled under completely different manufacturing conditions, with no computer controlled machinery or robots. Even so called mass- produced vehicles required a highly skilled workforce that could make numerous adjustments on the assembly line. Inventory control was not as sophisticated as it is today, so out- of-stock components were substituted with other comparable items. Therefore cars coming of the assembly line a few days apart could have variation. This was more likely to happen on low volume car production.
