INSURING A LOTUS ELAN

-

To find out how much it would cost to insure a Lotus Elan, we spoke to the experts at insurance specialists, RH, and enquired how much it would cost to cover a 1964 Lotus Series 2 convertible with a market value of £32,000. The quote was based on a 40-year-old male owner who keeps the car garaged overnight, has a clean driving licence, is employed as a teacher, limits driving the car to 3,000-5,000 miles per annum and lives in the DE4 postal area. The cost for 12 months’ cover, for use of the Lotus as a second car, would be £169.96 plus insurance premium tax (IPT). The policy includes an excess of £100 and comes with built-in UK & European breakdown, 90 days European cover and complimentary salvage retention. RH doesn’t charge a single penny in admin fees for any changes made whilst on cover. In fact, only a material change in risk, such as an increase in your vehicle’s value, will potentially have an effect on your premium.

A multi-vehicle discount is available when insuring additional vehicles whether they’re vintage, classic or every-day modern. Policy benefits offered by RH may vary between insurance schemes or cover selected and are subject to underwriting criteria.
