Justy – 1984-1994
The first generation Justy was introduced onto the Japanese market in 1984 and was basically a widened and stretched version of the Subaru Rex Kei sized car. Power came from a lusty 997cc inline three- cylinder engine, although European models produced from late 1986 came with a more flexible 1189cc three- cylinder engine.
A choice of either front or all-wheel drive was available and body styles included a three- or five- door hatchback. For the 1989 model year Subaru revised the Justy and gave the car a more rounded body style. The revised Justy was now available with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission as a cost option. Production of the first generation Justy ended in 1994 and it was replaced with a completely new model based on the Suzuki Swift.
