OUTLAW SCRAPPAGE!

I truly believe that it should be unlawful to scrap any car or other vehicle that is classed as historic, especially if it were to be yet another Maestro or anything else made in the same era that is almost non-existent because there is yet to be full support for ’70s, ’80s and even early ’90s everyday cars. Vauxhall isn’t doing well with this awful scheme that somehow makes drivers of older cars that are over 15 years old feel very guilty about themselves all because they drive cars that will one day win the hearts of many other enthusiasts who have very keen eyes on Cavaliers, Metros, Escorts etc that have only recently become worthy of being given the title of classic rather than just a bed of nails that’s better left in the motoring bad books.

Overall, I felt so sorry to read an angerinducing news story about E719 OEG [ CM, Feb 2017] being left to die in a skip as this is a perfect example of just how unbearable for a fan of these motors like myself it is. There should never be any need to do such a brutal and unfair thing to an unpopular but memorable Britishbuilt car that really did deserve another chance to be on the public highway, thus not falling for Vauxhall’s scheme of scrapping older cars that are still in working order!

I think you’ll find Vauxhall now has bigger things to worry about! Ed.
