OUR FORMER PROJECTS GO TO AUCTION

-

If you fancy getting behind the wheel of one of Classics Monthly’s former project cars, we can reveal that three will be going under the hammer in October at Anglian Motor Auctions next Classic and Retro sale. Included in the sale will be our 1991 Land Rover Discovery V8, a 1997 MG TF and our ultra reliable 2001 Jaguar X-Type.

Our Jaguar has been an illuminating experience of purchasing a cheap as chips emerging classic and has proved critics of the Mondeobased baby Jaguar well and truly wrong. Bought as a trade sale with a clunking front suspension and a glowing engine management light, after replacing a broken front spring and fitting a new oxygen sensor the car sailed through its MoT and provided us with over 20,000 trouble free and very enjoyable miles.

The MGF has had a new head gasket fitted, plus a new radiator and stainless steel under floor coolant pipes and we recently replaced the worn out Hydragas suspension with springs and telescopic dampers. Finally, our V8 powered Disco is now a rarity and comes complete with the original light blue Conran interior, which still sports its all important detachable centre console bag. Work completed on this vehicle includes fitting a reconditioned gearbox and a new set of springs and dampers.

The auction takes place in Wymondham, Norfolk, on Saturday, October 6, from 12pm. For more information about the sale and all the lots visit: www.eama-norwich.co.uk
