EVERYDAY CLASSICS AND MORE

Beaulieu is putting together a new display for its famous International Autojumble, while Simply Vauxhall and Simply Ford are set to return.

-

A round-up of the latest classic news, including a Triple Ton prewar Morris.

Beaulieu is calling for everyday cars of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s to join its new display, Forgotten Favourites, as part of the award-winning International Autojumble which will return on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September. Honouring the cars that used to be on every street corner, the display will bring back memories of family holidays, driving lessons, baking hot vinyl seats and beige colour schemes.

So is your pre-1990 historic motor the sort of everyday car that is now rarely seen on the roads? Perhaps it’s just like the one you learned to drive in, or reminds you of the car your parents drove back in the day? Then apply to be considered for the display by visiting beaulieu. co.uk/events/internationalautojumble/forgotten

favourites. Places are limited and show entry is free for vehicles that are accepted – successful owners will receive a pair of three-day entry wristbands for the International Autojumble.

For regular show-goers, early one-day and two-day visitor tickets are available, with a limited number of premium tickets giving priority parking, fast entry and a complimentary Showguide. For more details and to book your tickets, visit beaulieu. co.uk/events/internationalautojumble/tickets. Exhibitors and Trunk Traders can book their stands online at beaulieu. co.uk/events/international

autojumble/exhibitors, by contacting the events team via events@beaulieu.co.uk or by calling 01590 614614.

And talking of cars on every street corner, two of the heavyweights of British motoring will have their own days this July. For Vauxhall fans, Simply Vauxhall returns to the Beaulieu parkland on Saturday 17th July, with all models of Vauxhall welcome to take part. Last year’s event saw a wide variety of classic and modern machines park up together for a diverse display, from standard and modified Insignias, Astras, Vectras and Corsas to a 1950s Velox and Cresta, sporty Firenzas, a rare 1976 Chevette van and even a 1965 Bedford CA Minibus in the livery of a local bus company. This year’s event is sure to bring together an equally impressive selection of vehicles to admire.

The very next day – on Sunday 18th July – allegiances change as Simply Ford returns. Going from strength to strength since its launch over a decade ago, Simply Ford has become an events calendar highlight for thousands of fans of the motors wearing the famous blue oval badge. No matter if it is a pre-war rarity, a much-loved classic or a modern everyday car, all Fords are welcome to join the event, giving owners and enthusiasts the perfect opportunity to catch up and talk cars.

All tickets to these events must be bought in advance, with carefully-managed capacity limits in place. Rally participants planning to take part in the show with their Vauxhall, Opel or Bedford can book their tickets at www.beaulieu.co.uk/ events/simply-vauxhall, while Ford owners should visit www. beaulieu.co.uk/events/simplyford. All other visitors should purchase normal visitor admission tickets, which are available to book at www.beaulieu.co.uk, or by calling 01590 612345.

Other Simply... events this summer are Japanese (25th July), Audi (1st August), Aston Martin (21st August), Mercedes (22nd August), French (12th September), BMW (19th September) and British Classics (26th September).
