Vet­er­ans re­mem­ber

ABOUT 50 peo­ple made their way to the Cock­burn RSL in Hamil­ton Hill last Tues­day to mark Viet­nam Vet­er­ans Day, paus­ing to re­mem­ber the sac­ri­fice made by Aus­tralians dur­ing the con­flict.

Be­tween 1962 and 1975, more than 60,000 Aus­tralian ser­vice­men and women were de­ployed to Viet­nam, with 520 killed.

Last week the Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment un­veiled an online Viet­nam War gallery of pic­tures fea­tur­ing fam­ily pho­to­graphs, en­list­ment por­traits and can­did pic­tures from the war.
