Wouldn’t it be more ef­fi­cient and ben­e­fi­cial that ve­hi­cles pro­duce least noise, com­bus­tion, tyre wear and brake dust pol­lu­tion by trav­el­ling at con­stant power and speed?

The City of Cockburn com­mis­sioned two in­de­pen­dent traf­fic re­ports (2006 and 2013) com­par­ing op­tions and forecast Roe 8 to over­whelm­ingly re­duce ra­trun­ning, fu­ture con­ges­tion, road up­grades and main­te­nance.

Roe 8 is part of a grander scheme to pro­vide ef­fi­cient ac­cess for the fu­ture. If Roe 8, 9 and the Fre­man­tle East­ern By­pass were in place, I would have saved vari­ably 10 – 20 per cent of fuel and 20 – 30 per cent of travel time over nine years.
