Getting a real kick out of golf
GOLF AND SOCCER COMBINED
FORGET kicking a soccer ball into the back of a net, the newest craze sweeping Fremantle sees players kicking the ball in for a hole-in-one.
Foot golf is the newest hybrid game taking the world by storm, and the Fremantle Public Golf Course is offering locals the chance to give it a go, complete with the added fun of playing it at night.
Fremantle Public Golf Course’s Nola Darbyshire said foot golf interfered with regular golf, and golf played at night was just too frustrating for many people, so they thought they would combine the two for the fun and wacky night foot golf.
“It’s easy to play with a group of four players kicking the soccer ball into the 18 big lit-up holes around the course,” she said.
“The balls and the holes are glowing, making navigating in the dark child’s play and there are light shows and music all over the course.
“It requires no golfing skills, minimal soccer skills, no equipment is needed, it is very social, loads of fun and suitable for all ages.”
Entry is $20 a player with the next game on December 11.
